Overview:
Starpower (now RCN) selected Twin Contracting to set up their satellite data center in Bowie, MD. The project required cost-effective construction, technical expertise and tight coordination.
Twin transformed a warehouse shell into a state-of-the-art communications center. To ensure on-time completion, began construction on the offices, the communications center and auxiliary rooms while the more technical systems were still in development. Our flexible process allowed us to make on-the-fly changes to accommodate final decisions.
The technical infrastructure included:
- Satellite connections
- Data equipment & configuration
- DC power distribution plants
- Generator backup, wired for parallel redundancy
Twin’s organized, adaptable approach provided on-time delivery and smooth functionality, allowing Starpower to begin operations on schedule.
