Overview:
Mary Washington Hospital engaged Twin Contracting to build the Lloyd F. Moss Free Clinic, a leading-edge facility for the citizens of Fredericksburg and surrounding counties. Twin competed with three other general contractors for the project.
This structure, one of the most advanced of its type, is showcased by the Hospital as an example of contemporary, well-constructed medical facilities for the uninsured and underinsured.
Construction Highlights
Twin constructed a dedicated exterior entrance to the first-floor reception area. Skilled subcontractors completed the 15,000-square-foot medical facility on that level – treatment rooms, nurses’ stations, a physician’s lounge, a lab area, staff offices, a conference room, an ultra-modern dental area and a fully stocked pharmacy.
The project also called for an exterior entrance from the upper parking lot and terrace to the second floor, which has been set aside for future expansion of medical services.
The building’s striking design makes it a focal point of the upper hospital campus. Construction was completed on budget and on schedule. The grand opening, held in May 2007, was attended by Virginia governor Tim Kane and other political and medical dignitaries.
